When your pet has diarrhea it can be because of changing your dogâs food. When changing a dogâs pet food you would want to mix the new food with the old brand for about a week.
If it is because of some other digestive issue slippery elm can be used.
Slippery elm coats the mucouses of the stomach lining. I suggest not using it more than 1 week. Slippery elm overused can cause digestive issues. So I use it from 3 days to 1 week. I also add garlic granules and oregano. Garlic has many benefits. Not only does it help digestive problems, diarrhea, flu and much more but it also helps prevent cancer. Oregano is a stomach aid.
My golden retriever had digestive problems since she was a puppy. Her stomach was turning dark at times and I used organic coconut oil on her food and once her tummy turned pink again I stopped using the coconut oil. (Thanks to Jeff from Pet Paradise in Bloomfield, NJ). Jeff let me know that coconut oil is used for yeast infections in female dogs so I tried it out.
I thought her digestive problem was due to changing her dog food.  It was more than that. She had food allergies.  I used this protocol for about 1 month and she had gotten better once I changed her food to raw diet.
